The Kings of Israel and Judah
“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning.” — Romans 15:4
Every king of Israel and Judah, in the order of his reign — 43 in all: the three kings of the united kingdom, the twenty of Israel in the north (counting Tibni, the rival king of the civil-war years), and the twenty of Judah in the south (including Queen Athaliah). Open any king for his whole record: his story from Kings and Chronicles, the sin he did — how he displeased the LORD — the good he did, the LORD’s own verdict on his reign in the words of the King James Bible, how his reign ended, and the lessons his life leaves for believers today.
