“Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” — Mark 16:15
The pulpit God built first was outdoors. Jonah was sent to the streets of Nineveh; the prophets cried in the gates of Jerusalem; the Lord Jesus taught in the streets, on the hillsides, and from a boat; Paul reasoned in the market daily; and Whitefield drew thirty thousand at a time into open fields. This corner of the university belongs to that ministry: the charge of Scripture, the preaching itself, and the men of God who have done it.
