1the celestial glory there are three heavens or degrees;

2And in order to obtain the highest, a man must enter into this order of the priesthood [meaning the new and everlasting covenant of marriage];

3And if he does not, he cannot obtain it.

4He may enter into the other, but that is the end of his kingdom; he cannot have an increase.

5(May 17th, 1843.) The more sure word of prophecy means a man's knowing that he is sealed up unto eternal life, by revelation and the spirit of prophecy, through the power of the Holy Priesthood.

6It is impossible for a man to be saved in ignorance.

7There is no such thing as immaterial matter. All spirit is matter, but it is more fine or pure, and can only be discerned by purer eyes; ★ REFUTED

★ REFUTATION — "All spirit is matter"
Against the Bible

The companion doctrine: spirit is simply finer matter, discernible by purer eyes. This materialism dissolves the Creator-creature distinction the Bible everywhere assumes — 'God is a Spirit,' and 'the things which are seen were not made of things which do appear': the material world itself is God's creation from nothing, not the coarse grade of an eternal material that spirits share with stones.

John 4:24God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Hebrews 11:3Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

8We cannot see it; but when our bodies are purified we shall see that it is all matter.
