Bible Reading Accountability

Read the Bible Every Day — and Be Kept Accountable to It

An accountability system — a discipline training simulator — for keeping one another faithful to the Word of God.

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”Hebrews 10:24–25 (KJV)

The Bible is the flagship of this university, and a Bible unread does no man any good. So Grace Team University keeps its students accountable to read it — every day, together, with checks that mean something and grace when a day is missed.

How it works

1 · Choose a reading plan. The whole Bible in a year, the New Testament in 90 days, Psalms & Proverbs in a month, or the Gospels in 30 days. Your plan, your progress, and your whole reading history are saved and logged in your own student account — permanently, across every device.

2 · Read, and be checked — honestly. Read in the university’s own Bible reader and the reader itself can tell you read: it follows the verses as they pass before your eyes, the ground you cover from the first verse to the last, and the time you spend — and credits the chapter only for a genuine, unhurried read. Read in your paper Bible instead, and your day is checked by one question drawn from that day’s reading — a blanked word from a verse you just read. No honest reading, no check mark; and the reader’s credit is an honour-system aid, called what it is: reading detected in the reader.

3 · Keep your streak — with grace. Every checked day builds your streak. Miss a day, and you have 48 hours to redeem it by reading the missed day and the current day — the streak is preserved, and the day is marked redeemed. Accountability with mercy, not legalism.

4 · Walk with a partner. Pair with another student. You see each other’s streaks and daily check-ins, you can send encouragements with a verse, and when your partner misses two days you are gently flagged to check on them.

5 · Or join a circle. Three to six students on the same plan, a shared circle streak, and a rotating weekly shepherd whose turn it is to notice who is missing and reach out.

6 · Be rewarded. Faithfulness is honoured: printable milestone certificates at streaks of 7, 30, 100 and 365 days, and — if you choose it — your name on the public Faithful Readers page.
