When Jesus grew up, He went everywhere teaching people about God — and doing wonderful miracles that only God can do. Sick people were healed, blind people could see, and everyone who watched knew that Jesus was no ordinary man.
One evening, Jesus and His disciples got into a boat to cross the sea. Jesus was tired, and He fell asleep. Suddenly a great storm arose! The wind howled, and the waves crashed over the boat until it was filling with water. The disciples woke Jesus up, frightened: "Master, don't you care that we are going to drown?"
Jesus stood up and spoke to the storm: “And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” At once, the wind stopped and the sea became perfectly calm. The disciples looked at each other in wonder. Even the wind and the sea obey Jesus!
Another day, a huge crowd of more than five thousand people had followed Jesus to hear Him teach. Evening came, and the people were hungry. All the food anyone could find was one boy's lunch: five little loaves of bread and two small fish. Jesus took the bread and fish, thanked God, and broke them — and there was enough for everybody, with baskets of food left over!
Nothing is too hard for Jesus. He can calm any storm, and He can take even small things we give Him and make them more than enough.
